everyone grinds leetcode but nobody practices the actual interview conversation — so i built something for that

i've seen so many candidates ace the technical round and then fumble explaining their thought process or answering behavioral questions. we spend hours on algo drills but almost zero structured time on the conversation itself.

i'm vamshi, solo dev who just launched nxtinterview. full disclosure: i built this.

the idea came from watching friends prep for faang interviews. they'd grind leetcode for weeks, nail the coding problems in mock sessions, then completely stumble when asked "walk me through your approach" or "tell me about a time you dealt with ambiguity." the technical skill was there. the communication under pressure wasn't.

i realized there's no real way to practice the actual interview *conversation* — the back-and-forth, the clarity under stress, the way you structure answers when someone's watching the clock. so i built a tool that lets you run full mock interviews with an ai interviewer that adapts to your resume and the role you're targeting. it asks follow-ups, pushes back on vague answers, gives feedback on how you explained things.

it's not a leetcode replacement. it's for the part that happens around the coding — the intro, the behavioral questions, the system design discussion, the "any questions for me" close. the stuff that actually makes or breaks whether they want to work with you.

still early and iterating based on what people need. if you've ever felt like you knew the answer but couldn't articulate it cleanly in the moment, that's the gap this is trying to fill.
