i used to ask friends to mock interview me before big tech interviews. every single time, we'd start strong, then drift into "so how's work going?" or they'd go way too easy on me because they didn't want to be harsh.

i needed real practice — the kind where someone asks follow-ups when your answer is vague, or calls out when you're rambling. but coordinating schedules was a pain, and even when we did it, the feedback was always "yeah that was good" with nothing actionable.

so i built nxtinterview. it's a tool that runs mock interviews based on your resume and the role you're prepping for. asks real questions, follows up if you dodge something, gives you honest feedback on clarity, structure, and depth. no small talk, no sugarcoating.

i'm a solo dev, built this because i kept failing at the interview stage even though i knew my stuff — i just couldn't communicate it under pressure. the tool helped me get better at organizing my thoughts in real time, and i've been using it before every interview since.
